The first day

The first day of the rest of my life

Today being the 1st of January seems like a good day to start a blog. I’m not one for New Year’s Eve celebrations nor any kind of sentimentalism about the passing of the old year. Equally, I don’t believe that a date on the calendar marks any kind of change.

However, the long Christmas break does give one a chance to reflect and resolve on both personal and professional matters.

On the first front, one thing I am absolutely resolved to achieve is getting our council (LB Hounslow, since you ask) to implement the parking controls that my neighbours and I have been begging for over the last four years. Our nice, friendly, residential street is abused on a daily basis by dozens of people who consider us to be the last free car park on the route from the west into central London. We’re sick of not being able to park in our own street, never mind near our homes.

Professionally, as always, there is much to achieve. High on the list will be working with my fellow members of the PRI (Public Relations Independents – www.indiepr.org) to keep our splendid organisation going and growing. It will be fun.
